How to Dial Internationally from United States

In the US, 011 is the International Direct Dialing (IDD) prefix. Most American mobile networks also support the "+" sign (long-press 0) as a shortcut. Note that calls to Canada and many Caribbean nations are part of the NANP and don't require 011.

This code signals your local provider that the call is bound for an international destination. Without it, your call will be routed as a domestic long-distance number.
